The hardware product Intertrol offers is called the FilterCube. This is a hardware device that is installed directly into the client's network and handles all of the filtering locally. The FilterCube also has a caching function , which can be utilized to save bandwidth for the client and a Firewall option for network protection. The FilterCube provides user level Profiles, giving administrators the tools to manage access down to the user level. The FilterCube offers a powerful, efficient, out-of-the-box filtering system for networks. It can be installed in minutes and can be configured to fit the needs of simple or complex networks.

In a network, all Internet requests go through the FilterCube at which point the website requested is compared to the database to see if it is allowed to be accessed or not. The FilterCube is built for high-demand, high-speed network environments. Schools, libraries and businesses can take advantage of the simplicity and efficiency of filtering without leaving their network. The FilterCube's database is updated automatically from our master servers on a nightly basis. FilterCube features include support for a wide variety of categories, internal proxy authentication, support of unlimited users and filtering profiles, creation of custom categories of blocks and allows , administrator bypass, easy to use web-based Firewall option for network protections, integration with existing networks and protocols and support for remote updates and diagnostics.
