THE FOLLOWING IS A STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR INSTALLING THE FILTERPAK FOR HOME.

** Please print these instructions for your records. **

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL FILTERPAK

Step #1: Visit Family Guardian and click the "Free Trial" link to download the installation file.

Step #2: Once you have downloaded the installation file "filterpakwin762.exe" to an accessible location on your computer, click on [Open].

Step #3: It will ask first for a “Location to Save Files” by default you will see "C:\Program Files\S4F\PACKAGE". This is the recommended place to save the file. Click [Next].

Step #4: You will now be welcomed to the Install Wizard. Click [Next].

Step #5: Our “License Agreement” will follow. Click [Yes].

Step #6: “Choose Destination Location” is now what you see. "C:\Program Files\S4F" is the recommended place to install. Click [Next].

Step #7: A window will pop up stating “Installation will now connect to the registration server in order to register your account. You must be connected to the Internet in order to proceed. Do you wish to proceed?”
Click [Yes] if you are connected to the Internet.

Step #8: Fill out the Information requested in the on-line form. Click on [Continue] after filling out the form.

IMPORTANT Optional step for existing members: If you already have an established account type click on [Already Have An Account? CLICK HERE] and continue the installation.

NOTE ABOUT THE ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM: At the bottom of this page you will be able to select reporting which will enable the Administrator of the account to see the next day where a logged in user has been on the Internet. This is a free option if you wish to choose it. Reporting can be accessed from the www.familyguardian.net website in the support area.

Step #9: Here you will select a Master Account Name and Password. Click [Continue] after selecting your Master Account Name and Password.

Note: The Master Account controls the software and has the ability to bypass or uninstall the FilterPak. It is very important you do not share this information with any of the users you are trying to protect. At this step you may also select a Security Question to answer; in the event you ever forget the password you have selected.

Step #10: This step is for setting up Users. Each User can have a different level of filtering. The Administrator sets up the Username and Password and assigns blocked categories for each user. In Family Guardian's FilterPak you may set up to 5 Users. Make sure you keep a list of Usernames and Passwords because this is what you will use to log into the Family Guardian when accessing the Internet.

After you have created at least one user, it will ask for user2 setup. If you wish to add another user you may do so or if you are finished simply click on [Create Trial Account] or [Buy Now].

Note: You may select a "Default Filtering Level" of Blocking Pornography/Nudity, Adult Material, and Weapons/Violence or you may select Custom and choose from any of our 23 Categories of Blocking.

Step #11: You will now receive a confirmation “Registration Status-Complete” along with your personal configuration settings, which will also be emailed to you. We suggest printing this page for your records. After you print the page click [Continue]

Step #12: Continue will bring you to a Page to “Start Copying Files”. Click on [Next]

Step: #13: Set up Status will begin and Family Guardian's FilterPak will now install and ask to Reboot your computer now. Click on [Finish]
*If your computer dos not restart automatically, restart your computer manually.

Step #14: After you Reboot, you will now log on with the Username, which you will already see, and Password you wish to connect to the Internet with. It will now give you a choice to [Buy Now] [Continue Trial] or [Uninstall].

CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE NOW HAVE PROTECTED INTERNET ACCESS.
